Do Ho Suh is the Seoul-born artist in London who rebuilds the homes he has lived in from translucent fabric. Here you will find our take on his work, his Tate Modern show and the exhibition book you can buy.
Our take on Do Ho Suh
Suh is best known for fabric sculptures that reconstruct the places he has lived,, at full size. Lehmann Maupin describes his work as confronting questions of home, physical space, displacement, memory, individuality and collectivity.
His 2025 Tate Modern show, Walk the House, brought together works including Nest/s (2024), Perfect Home: London, Horsham, New York, Berlin, Providence, Seoul (2024) and Rubbing/Loving: Seoul Home (2013 to 2022). “Do Ho refutes the idea of a linear time,” the Tate curator Dina Akhmadeeva told designboom.
The exhibition book, made with the artist, is the way to take the show home.
