Mat Collishaw is the Nottingham-born, London-based artist who works across photography, film, sculpture and installation, often with dark subjects. Here you will find our take on his work, his 2026 shows and the prints you can buy from £450.

Our take on Mat Collishaw

Collishaw studied at Goldsmiths, graduating in 1989, and works across photography, film, sculpture and installation. His shows have filled historic settings, from Galleria Borghese in Rome in 2014 to the Queen’s House in Greenwich and Castle Howard in 2018, according to his 2026 CV.

His subjects are often hard to look at. This summer at The Sherborne in Dorset, Last Meal on Death Row looked at the meals chosen by people awaiting execution in the US.

The most affordable way to own one is a print: a signed screenprint from Counter Editions or a framed giclée from the Kew Gardens shop.
