The Dyson Supersonic Nural is Dyson's hair dryer with built-in sensors. One measures how close it is to your head and turns the heat down to protect your scalp, and another pauses the dryer when you put it down. Dyson launched it in the UK in 2024 at £399.99, and Amazon UK had the Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold version with five attachments at £349, in stock.

What the Dyson Supersonic Nural is
The Supersonic Nural sits above the original Supersonic in Dyson's range. It keeps the same ring-shaped design with the motor in the handle, and adds what Dyson calls Nural sensors. A clear end cap shows the technology inside.
Tech Advisor reported the UK price as £399.99 in May 2024, sold through Dyson online and its demo stores.
What the Supersonic Nural does
- Scalp protect mode: a time-of-flight sensor measures the distance to your hair and lowers the heat as the dryer gets closer.
- Pause detect: a motion sensor notices when you put the dryer down, then switches off the heater and lowers the airflow and noise.
- Attachment learning: the dryer recognises which attachment is fitted and goes back to the settings you last used with it.
- Attachments: the Straight and Wavy set on Amazon comes with five, including the Flyaway attachment, a Wave and Curl diffuser and a styling concentrator.

The limits of the Dyson Supersonic Nural
The price is the obvious catch. Even at £349 it costs far more than most hair dryers.
The sensors are what you pay extra for. If you never rest the dryer between sections or worry about scalp heat, other Supersonic models, such as the Supersonic Origin, do without them.
Colours and attachment sets vary by retailer. Check which set you are buying, because the Straight and Wavy and the Curly and Coily sets come with different attachments.
