gomi wireless charger pad with a blue and white marbled recycled plastic top in an aluminium ring, USB-C cable attached

gomi Wireless Charger

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Sold out: I checked gomi's shop on 21 October 2026 and every standard wireless charger in the current drop was sold out. For similar presents, see our gifts for techies.

The gomi wireless charger is a 15W Qi charging pad handmade in Brighton from recycled plastic packaging, so every top is marbled differently. gomi sells the standard pads in limited drops at £55 each, and each one is a one-off, so you pick the exact pad you want when a drop is live.

What the gomi wireless charger is

gomi is a small design studio in Brighton, co-founded by Tom Meades in 2017. It turns plastic packaging that most UK councils will not recycle into tech products, and it reuses lithium-ion cells from old e-bikes in its products.

The charger is a plug-in pad, not a power bank, so it has no battery inside. Instead, you plug it into a USB-C wall plug and lay your phone on top. gomi builds it with an aluminium ring and screws rather than glue, so it can be taken apart and repaired.

Because every top is different, gomi lists each charger separately. Once a pad sells, it is gone.

Key facts

  • Maker: gomi, Brighton
  • Charging: up to 15W, works with Qi phones and earbuds
  • Size: 9cm across and 1cm deep
  • Weight: 106g
  • Power: USB-C input, needs a USB-C PD wall plug (gomi recommends 20W)
  • Price: £55 each

Who the gomi wireless charger suits

It suits anyone who wants a charger that looks like a small piece of design rather than black plastic. Because no two tops match, it also works as a personal present.

gomi also makes power banks from the same recycled plastic, and our gomi power bank page covers those.

The limits

It needs a USB-C PD wall plug, and gomi recommends a 20W one. If you only have an old phone plug, you will need to buy one.

Its 15W output is also below the 25W that newer Qi2 chargers offer, so it will not top up a recent phone as quickly.

Finally, stock comes in drops. Between drops, every standard pad can show as sold out.

Where to buy it in the UK

gomi sells its chargers direct from its own shop, with each one-off listed separately on its wireless charger page. We could not find gomi chargers on Amazon UK. gomi has also made a Barbie edition of the same pad, using plastic from donated dolls, which Wallpaper covered in September 2026.
