Odujej Mudle Mini Crayons are a box of five handmade crayons shaped like small pebbles, inspired by the stones of Jeju Island in South Korea. They are made from beeswax, kaolin clay and mineral pigments, and each one is about 2.5cm across. Before Breakfast in London sells the set for £20.
Odujej is a Korean maker that hand-makes its crayons on Jeju Island. The Mudle crayon takes its pebble shape from the island's stones, and the five colours in each set reflect its landscapes.
The Mini set is the smaller version of the Mudle crayon. Because of the round shape, you hold them like a stone rather than a pencil, so they suit broad, soft marks more than fine lines.
For more ideas in the same spirit, our Christmas stationery gifts list has 31 design-led picks.
Five colours is a small palette, so these are for sketching and play rather than detailed colouring.
The pebble shape has no point, so fine lines are hard.
Karst's limited-edition version of the set has sold out, so Before Breakfast is the UK shop I could find with stock.
Before Breakfast, a London stationery shop, sells the Mini set on its Odujej product page, with the sizes and materials listed. Karst, the stone paper notebook brand, also sold a limited-edition version that is now sold out.
