The Protect Trans Kids t-shirt is a black tee printed in white with the words Protect Trans Kids in a gothic font, with a knife and a rose between the lines. It comes from Transfigure Print Co, a queer and trans-owned print shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the design is by the artist Rio Wolf. Transfigure sells it for £23 in sizes XS to XL, with larger sizes up to 6X.
What the Protect Trans Kids t-shirt is
Transfigure calls it the shirt that started it all. Bailey Sell, a trans printmaker, founded the company in 2017 and now runs it with Arlo VanHorn. In June 2024 they opened a shop on Plainfield Avenue in Grand Rapids.
The shirt carries a plain message of support for trans young people. Transfigure also runs the Transfigure Trans Fund. The Rapidian reported in 2024 that it had raised over $90,000 for the LGBTQ+ community since 2019.

The limits
It ships from the US. With hand printing and international post, a UK order can take up to around eight weeks to arrive, so order well ahead of Pride or a birthday.
Returns cost you postage to the US. Check the size chart on the product page before you order to avoid sending it back.
Import charges may apply. Transfigure says that if a parcel comes back to it because a payment was not made, the customer is billed the return fee and the cost of sending it again.
