Tracey Emin Teacup and Pancake Blanket

Last updated: 12 October 2026

The Tracey Emin blanket is a recycled cotton throw woven with her painting of her two cats, Teacup & Pancake (2025), made for her Tate Modern show A Second Life. Atlantic Blankets weaves it in Cornwall, and it measures 174 x 104cm (about 68.5 x 41in). Tate Shop has cut it from £200 to £160, and it was still in stock when I checked the price and stock on 12 October 2026.

What the Tracey Emin blanket is

Emin painted her cats from memory and described the results as "the feeling of the cats I love". The image on this blanket shows the two cats side by side, one curled up and one sitting. Tate made it as one of two blanket designs with the artist, and it is sold only through Tate Shop.

Tate describes Emin as renowned for her love of cats and quotes her saying, "The unconditional love that you feel from a cat is extraordinary." Our review of A Second Life covers the show the blanket was made for, which ran at Tate Modern from 27 February to 31 August 2026.

The limits of the Tracey Emin blanket
