The Mark+Fold Glow notebook is an A5 notebook with a neon orange gradient printed into the centre of every spread. Open it anywhere and the gutter looks lit from inside the spine. It is a limited edition that Mark+Fold released in January 2026, with 128 plain pages of 120gsm paper, a grey cover with neon orange foil and a thread-sewn binding that opens flat. It costs £32 direct from Mark+Fold, the British stationery brand that makes it. The price, stock and specification were checked on Mark+Fold's own site on 23 September 2026.
It is Mark+Fold's standard layflat notebook with one change. Every spread carries a band of neon orange ink printed across the fold. The colour is strongest in the gutter and fades to plain paper towards the outer edges. So most of each page is ordinary writing space, and the orange only shows properly when the book is open.
Close it and you see a quiet grey cover with a small neon orange half-circle foiled on the edge. Fan the pages and the orange runs down the whole spine side of the block.
Mark+Fold describe it as a notebook that "appears to glow from within". Six buyers have reviewed it on Mark+Fold's site, and all six gave it five stars. One of them, E Roberts, called it "like opening dawn".
A5 is half a sheet of A4, so it fits in most bags without taking over. The exact figures are 148 x 210mm.
Inside are 128 plain pages of smooth 120gsm paper. That is noticeably heavier than printer paper, which is usually 80gsm. Mark+Fold chose it for fountain pens, so ink should not feather or show through much. Plain pages also suit sketching and drawing.
The binding is the main thing that separates it from a cheaper notebook. The pages are thread-sewn and bound with cold glue rather than hot-melt glue. As a result the book lies flat on a desk from the first page, without you having to crack the spine. Mark+Fold say their layflat notebooks are bound in Belgium by the same bindery they have used since 2015. Their How It's Made page explains the process.
Mark+Fold is a British stationery brand founded in 2015 by Amy Cooper-Wright. Before that she spent more than 15 years in branding and book design, including time in design teams at agencies such as Pentagram. You can read the story on Mark+Fold's about page.
The brand also publishes a supplier map showing where its products are made, from a family bindery in Ipswich to a hand bookbinder in Hoxton, East London.
Mark+Fold sell it direct at £32, and it was in stock when checked. It is a single version, so there is no size or ruling to choose.
UK delivery is free on orders over £50, so one notebook on its own pays postage. Orders placed by 1pm on a weekday go out the same day, and next-day delivery is available. Gift wrapping and a handwritten note can be added to any order, and the packaging is plastic-free. Full details are on the shipping policy page.
Mark+Fold sell the Glow as a limited edition and do not say how many they made. If you want one for Christmas, buy it well before December rather than counting on a restock.

It suits anyone who sketches, journals or writes with a fountain pen and likes their tools to look good on a desk. It also works as a gift for a designer, because the idea is visible the moment the book opens. Pair it with a pen such as the Kaweco Classic Sport and you have a complete present for under £60.
It suits people who need lines or a dot grid less well. The pages are plain, and the orange sits right where the two pages meet. If you write to the very edge of the gutter, some of your words will land on colour. For a ruled notebook with a design story, the Raeburn A5 NASA notebook is the alternative.
At £32 it also costs more than most A5 notebooks. You are paying for the binding, the heavier paper and the printing on every spread.
