Ed Atkins is the Oxford-born artist known for computer-generated films about intimacy, love and loss. Here you will find our take on his work, his Tate Britain survey and the screenprint and book you can buy.
Our take on Ed Atkins
Atkins is known for computer-generated videos and animations, and also makes writing, paintings, embroideries and drawings, according to Tate. “My life and my work are inextricable,” he says.
His 2025 Tate Britain show was the largest UK survey of his work so far. It premiered Nurses Come and Go, But None for Me (2024), a two-hour film made with Steven Zultanski. “I want it so the more you see, the richer, more complex, less authored, less gettable things become,” Atkins told Tate.
Tate sells a signed screenprint he made for the gallery, in an edition of 50.
