Frankie Abralind is an artist, writer and game designer from Washington, DC, who paints in Kool-Aid and India ink. Frankie Abralind prints of his eight Vibrationism paintings, each made while one song played on repeat, cost $229 framed from his own shop. He also designed BrainSpin, a card game about how differently people see the same shape.

Our take on Frankie Abralind as an artist

Abralind's paintings start with a song. For Vibrationism he played one track on repeat for hours and painted until the picture was done, using blots of Kool-Aid for colour and hundreds of fine India ink lines that bend around them.

We list the prints because they are such a neat idea. Each comes with a small plaque and a QR code that plays the song the painting was made to, so you can hear what he heard. The songs run from Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek" to Sofi Tukker's "Feeling Good".

"If you treat everything like it's precious, you'll never have any breakthroughs," he writes on his site. It is a good way into work made from a drinks powder.
