Gerardo Vizmanos is the Spanish photographer, a former corporate lawyer, whose pictures of the male body and movement look like contemporary dance. Here you will find our take on his work and where he has shown.

Our take on Gerardo Vizmanos

Vizmanos worked as a corporate lawyer in Europe and the US before turning to photography, according to Spain Arts & Culture. He moved to New York in 2012.

His pictures focus on the male body and movement, often with several figures arranged like dancers; his ongoing Acro project features acrobats. He photographs people from his own social circle. Talking about the switch from law, he told WÜL Magazine: “The biggest challenge was fear.”

He balances personal projects with fashion commissions for magazines. He also edits Redlist, an independent print magazine about the male body. Issue 7, Skin, is his series on tattooed skin, and it comes with an optional signed Small Print of one of his photographs: €120 for the magazine and print together.
