The Finimize app explains the day's market news in a short daily briefing, with analyst research on top for paying members. Finimize Ltd is based in London and has been running since 2016. Its free Daily Brief newsletter goes to more than one million subscribers.

What the Finimize app does
Finimize turns financial news into short reads. The Daily Brief covers the biggest market stories of the day in about three minutes, and the app carries the same news in text and audio. On top of that, there are explainers, a glossary, research collections and live events.
It does not let you buy or sell anything. So you still need a separate investing platform to act on what you read.
Free against Finimize Pro
The Daily Brief newsletter is free. The app is free to download too, but reviewers on the UK App Store point out that much of the app's content sits behind the subscription. So if you only want the daily news, the free newsletter covers it.
Finimize Pro adds the analyst research. Finimize's analysts publish an investment idea with a thesis, an entry price and the risks, then track it until they close it. You follow the ideas in the app alongside their portfolio and decide for yourself what fits yours.

Regulation and the risks
Finimize's own terms say it "is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and does not offer any regulated services". Its research is general, so it does not take account of your savings, your debts or how much risk you can take. There is no protection from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) either, because Finimize never holds your money or investments.

Who the Finimize app suits
It suits people who already invest, or plan to, and want the news explained quickly every morning. Pro is aimed at people who pick their own shares and want an analyst's view before they buy.
It does not suit someone who wants their money managed for them. In that case, a ready-made fund or a managed account on an investing platform does the job without daily reading.
