Alessi Blip spoon rest, a wave-shaped piece of mirror-polished stainless steel, on a white background

Alessi Blip Spoon Rest

Last updated: 8 October 2026

The Alessi Blip is a spoon rest in mirror-polished 18/10 stainless steel, shaped like the ripple a drop makes when it hits water. It sits by the hob and holds a wooden spoon, a ladle or a spatula. As a result, the sauce lands on the Blip instead of the worktop. Alessi UK sells it for £26. I checked the prices and stock on 8 October 2026, and Amazon UK had it at the same price, sold by Amazon.

What the Alessi Blip is

The Blip is a small wave of polished steel that a spoon lies in while you cook. Alessi says the curves are there to cradle spoons and ladles of different lengths and sizes. The name is meant to sound like a drop landing in water.

Alessi has made it since 2010. The design is credited to LPWK and Paolo Gerosa by the Milan design shop MoHD. LPWK is the studio of Laura Polinoro, who led Alessi's own design research centre.

Key facts

  • Price: £26 from Alessi UK and from Amazon UK
  • Material: 18/10 stainless steel, mirror polished
  • Size: 15 x 9 x 3.4cm, roughly the footprint of a smartphone
  • Cleaning: dishwasher safe
  • Design: LPWK with Paolo Gerosa, made by Alessi since 2010
  • Made in: China, with design, development and quality control by Alessi in Italy

Who the Alessi Blip suits

  • People who cook every day: it stops a wet spoon marking the worktop, and afterwards it goes in the dishwasher with the pans.
  • Anyone buying a small design present: at £26 it is an Alessi piece that gets used every time someone cooks. Our gifts for designers guide has more in the same spirit.
  • Kitchens with steel appliances: the polished finish matches a stainless hob, kettle or toaster.

The price and the polish

£26 is a lot for a spoon rest. Instead of a basic holder, the money pays for the polished 18/10 steel, the Alessi name and a shape that has stayed in production since 2010.

On top of that, mirror-polished steel shows fingerprints and water marks. Expect to give it a quick wipe between washes if you want it to stay shiny.

Also, it holds one spoon or one ladle at a time. If you cook with two pans and two spoons on the go, you will need two of them.

Where to buy the Alessi Blip in the UK

Amazon UK had the Alessi Blip in stock at £26, sold and shipped by Amazon. Alessi UK sells it direct at the same price, with free returns within 60 days. However, Alessi only delivers free on orders over £149, so on its own the Blip costs less to get through Amazon. The full specification is on the Alessi UK product page.

For the dining table, the Alessi Conversational Objects cutlery is another Alessi present.
