The Election Countdown calendar is a tear-off pad that counts down the last 365 days to the US presidential election on 7 November 2028. You tear off one page each morning, from 365 on 8 November 2027 to 0 on Election Day. It is CoolCuration's own product, designed by Stiven Skyrah. It costs $19.99 on Amazon in the US (about £15 at the European Central Bank rate on 23 October 2026; convert it at today's rate) and £14.94 on Amazon UK.

It is a small paperback pad, 4 x 6 inches, that you read with the spine along the top, like a desk pad. Every page carries a big number, the words "days left" and the date. Tear one off each morning, and the pad gets thinner as the vote gets closer. The last page reads 0: Today is election day.
The cover is navy, with the title in heavy white capitals above red and white stripes. A printed circle near the bottom marks the spot for a hole punch, so you can hang it on a nail or a hook. Otherwise, it stands on a desk or leans against a shelf.
The count starts at 365 on Monday 8 November 2027 and finishes at 0 on Tuesday 7 November 2028. Presidential elections fall on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, and 3 U.S. Code section 1 appoints the electors on that day. Because 2028 is a leap year, 29 February gets a page of its own too.
The dates are printed the American way, month first. So the first page reads 11/08/2027, which means 8 November rather than 11 August.
Election Countdown doesn't take sides. The number on the page is the same whoever you vote for. Still, plenty of people are counting the days to November 2028, each for their own reasons.
For a Democrat, it is a small daily dose of hope: tear off a page, and the next election is one day closer. For the Republican in the family, on the other hand, it makes a cheeky wind-up gift that sits on the kitchen counter for a whole year. And for the political junkie who never misses a debate, it is a desk calendar for the date they are already counting down to.
At $19.99, or £14.94 in the UK, it fits most Secret Santa budgets. It is also small enough for a Christmas stocking: Americans call that a stocking stuffer, and in Britain it is a stocking filler. Meanwhile, white elephant swaps, where guests steal each other's presents, reward a joke gift that gets a laugh when it is opened.
The timing works in its favour as well. Since the countdown starts in November 2027, Christmas 2026 is the last Christmas before it begins. So the person gets it now, puts it on a shelf, and hangs it up next November with all 365 pages to go. For more ideas at this price, see our cheap gifts that look expensive.
Election Countdown is on Amazon UK as well as Amazon.com, so Americans living in Britain can get it delivered like any other UK order. When I checked, Amazon UK was quoting delivery within two days. For Americans elsewhere, Amazon.com ships many books abroad, so check delivery to your country at checkout.
For anyone voting from overseas, the count doubles as a reminder to register and request a ballot in good time. The Federal Voting Assistance Program explains how US citizens abroad vote.
I designed Election Countdown myself. I'm Stiven Skyrah, and I run CoolCuration. The cover borrows from American campaign signs: a heavy sans-serif title in navy, red and white, and nothing else. Inside, each page holds just a number, two words and a date, so the count is the first thing you see.
It is the second CoolCuration product on Amazon, after my KINDNESS MATTERS notebook.
First, it does nothing for a while. The first page is dated 8 November 2027, so for the next year it is a gift in waiting. If you want something that counts down from today, this isn't it.
The pages are printed on one side and carry only the count, so there is no room for notes or appointments. It is also small at 4 x 6 inches, closer to a postcard than a wall calendar. In addition, there is no hole: you punch your own at the printed circle, or stand it up instead.
Finally, it has one job. Once Election Day has passed, the pad is finished, apart from the last page, which you might want to keep.
It is sold on Amazon. Amazon.com has it for $19.99, and Amazon UK has it for £14.94. Both were in stock when I checked.

Either. The count is the same whoever you vote for. Democrats might treat it as a year of hope, while a Republican might get it as a wind-up.
No. Christmas 2026 is the last Christmas before the countdown starts, so it is a natural time to give it. It then goes up on 8 November 2027.
