How the Enzo Mari flip calendar works

Timor never runs out, because it has no printed year. Instead, the day, the date and the month each sit on a fan of cards fixed at one point. Each morning you flip the right card to the front.

Meanwhile, the body is moulded ABS plastic and the cards are lithographed PVC, set in Helvetica. The Museum of Design in Plastics record notes it is believed to be inspired by railway station signs.

Who Enzo Mari and Danese are

Enzo Mari was an Italian designer, and Timor is one of the objects he made for Danese Milano. Danese has made design objects since 1957 and is now part of Artemide, the Italian lighting company.

In addition, the Museum of Design in Plastics at Arts University Bournemouth added one to its collection in 2021.

The limits

You turn it by hand every day, so it is only accurate if someone remembers. That makes it best for someone with a morning routine at the same desk.

Also, note that Timor comes in Italian, English, French and German versions. If the day names matter, ask Present & Correct which one you will get.

Delivery and returns

Present & Correct calculates UK postage at checkout, by Royal Mail, with tracking on orders over £35. Next-day Special Delivery is available if you order by 2.30pm.

You can return it in its original condition within 28 days for an exchange or a refund, minus the original postage. The shop is in Bloomsbury if you would rather see it first.
