The Hayward Gallery heart brooch is a red 3D-printed heart made by the Italian studio Maison 203 and sold by the Southbank Centre Shop. It went on sale alongside the Chiharu Shiota and Yin Xiuzhen exhibitions at the Hayward Gallery in 2026. Both shows have closed, but on 11 October 2026 the shop still had the brooch in stock in two sizes: small at £15 and large at £20.
What the Hayward Gallery heart brooch is
It is a simple red heart pin, printed in PLA, a plastic made from corn starch. The 3D printing leaves a fine ridged texture on the surface, so it looks more like a small object than a flat badge.
The shop sold it as part of its range for two exhibitions that ran at the Hayward from 17 February to 3 May 2026. Yin Xiuzhen's Heart to Heart filled the lower galleries, and Chiharu Shiota's Threads of Life, with its red thread installations, took the upper floor. The red heart nods to both.

Who makes it
Maison 203 was founded in 2011 by the designers Orlando Fernandez Flores and Lucia De Conti. The studio is based in their home in the Veneto, among the Prosecco hills, and makes 3D-printed jewellery. Its about page tells the story.

The limits
PLA is often called biodegradable, but it only breaks down in industrial composting. It will not rot in a home compost bin, so treat it as a brooch to keep.
The small size is subtle. On a thick winter coat it can get lost, so the large is the better pick if you want it seen.
The exhibitions are over, and gallery shops do clear out show ranges over time. If you want one, I would not wait too long.
