The Remarkable Paper Pro is a premium distraction-free e-ink writing tablet with an 11.8-inch Canvas Color display, adjustable reading light, and a paper-like writing experience. It starts at £559 in the UK and is available on Amazon with the Marker Plus stylus included. Buy the Remarkable Paper Pro on Amazon UK here.
The Remarkable Paper Pro is a digital notebook made by Norwegian company reMarkable. Unlike a regular tablet, it runs no apps and has no browser. Instead, it focuses entirely on writing, sketching, annotating PDFs, and organising notes. Think of it as a premium replacement for paper notebooks, designed to protect your focus rather than fight for your attention.
It is available to buy in the UK through Amazon and directly from reMarkable's own website. We recommend Amazon UK for faster delivery and straightforward returns.

Display: 11.8-inch Canvas Color e-ink display at 2160 x 1620 resolution (229 ppi). It uses real colour ink particles rather than a backlit screen, so it reflects natural light and reduces eye strain. An adjustable reading light is also built in for low-light use.
Writing experience: The textured glass surface is designed to feel like writing on paper. The included Marker Plus stylus offers 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt detection, and a built-in eraser on the reverse end. Pen-to-ink distance sits under 1mm, so there is virtually no lag.
Processor and storage: 1.8GHz quad-core Cortex A53, 2GB RAM, 64GB internal storage. That is more than enough for thousands of notebooks and documents.
Battery: 5,030mAh battery, rated for up to two weeks of use between charges.
Weight and dimensions: 525g, just 5.1mm thin. Roughly A4-sized at 274 x 197mm.
Software: Supports handwritten notes, PDF annotation, built-in templates (planners, grids, lined paper), and handwriting-to-text conversion. Everything syncs to cloud and companion apps on desktop and mobile via the Connect subscription.
There are three bundles available on Amazon UK. All include the Marker Plus stylus, 6 spare tips, and a USB-C cable:
Paper Pro with Marker Plus (base bundle): from £559 — the tablet and stylus with no case. The best entry point if you already have a case or prefer a third-party option.

The Type Folio keyboard (£179) is sold separately and is currently only available direct from reMarkable's website. It is not yet listed on Amazon UK for the Paper Pro.
Connect is reMarkable's cloud subscription service. Without it, you can still use the tablet for writing and note-taking locally. However, you lose access to cloud sync across devices, the desktop and mobile apps, handwriting search, and unlimited storage. Additionally, notebooks that go unedited for 50 days are removed from the cloud (though they remain on the device itself).
For most users, Connect adds enough convenience to justify the cost. It currently costs around £3.29 per month (recently increased from £2.99), with annual billing available at 12 months for the price of 10. New buyers get a 50-day free trial to decide. You can read more on the official Connect pricing page.
In early 2026, reMarkable launched the Paper Pro Move, a smaller 7.3-inch version designed for portability. Both devices share the same colour e-ink technology and distraction-free software, but they serve different needs.
The Paper Pro's 11.8-inch display is ideal for long-form writing, PDF annotation, and desk-based work. By contrast, the Paper Pro Move is smaller than a paperback and fits in a jacket pocket, making it better suited to quick notes on the go. If you primarily write at a desk or on a sofa, the full-size Paper Pro is the stronger choice.
We have spent months using the Remarkable Paper Pro daily. If you want an honest, detailed take on what it is like to live with, including the typing experience, the limitations, and whether it genuinely justifies the price, read our full Remarkable Paper Pro review. Spoiler: we gave it a Cool Factor of 4 out of 5 (Stone cold).

You can buy it directly from reMarkable's website or from Amazon UK. It is also available at Currys. Amazon tends to offer the fastest delivery and simplest returns.
If you value distraction-free writing and note-taking, it is genuinely excellent. However, the price is steep and it deliberately avoids things like web browsing or running apps. Read our full Remarkable Paper Pro review for an honest verdict.
Yes. You can write and take notes locally without Connect. However, cloud sync, app access, handwriting search, and unlimited storage all require the subscription. Most users will find it worth the approximately £3.29 per month.
Amazon UK stocks three bundles: base (tablet + Marker Plus), Mosaic Weave Folio bundle, and Leather Folio bundle. The Type Folio keyboard (£179) is currently only available direct from reMarkable. It turns the device into a proper writing machine and is well worth considering.
It supports PDFs and ePub files, so technically yes. In practice, though, the e-ink refresh rate is slower than dedicated e-readers like the Kindle Paperwhite, and the device is heavier. It works in a pinch, but a Kindle is a better choice for reading.
