The reMarkable Paper Pro is an 11.8-inch colour e-ink tablet for handwritten notes, sketches and marking up PDFs. It has a reading light and up to two weeks of battery, but no apps or web browser. It launched in the UK at £559 with the standard Marker, or £599 with the Marker Plus. On 12 October 2026 Amazon UK had the Marker Plus version at £599, sold by Amazon.

What the Paper Pro is
The Paper Pro is the colour model in reMarkable's range of paper tablets. reMarkable built it for writing, so it opens straight to your notebooks rather than a home screen of apps.
The screen is reMarkable's Canvas Color display. Instead of a backlit panel, it uses coloured ink particles, so it works in direct sunlight.
What it does
- Handwritten notes: you write with a stylus called the Marker on a textured glass surface, with 12 milliseconds of writing latency.
- PDF and ebook mark-up: it opens PDF and ePub files, so you can annotate reports by hand.
- Colour: reMarkable says the display can show 20,000 colours.
- Handwriting conversion: it turns your handwriting into typed text, and that works without a subscription.

Who it suits

The limits
It is expensive for a device that cannot browse the web or run apps. If you also want email, streaming or a browser, you will need a second device such as an iPad.
Reviewers at TechRadar and T3 both found the reading light dim, even on its brightest setting. T3 also noticed lag on page turns and erasing.
The Marker is proprietary and the tips wear down, so you will need to buy replacements. The keyboard case is extra too: T3 priced the Type Folio at £219.
Finally, some features need the Connect subscription after a 50-day free trial. Those include unlimited cloud sync, handwriting search and making notes in the phone and desktop apps.

How long does the battery last?

What is the difference between the Marker and the Marker Plus?
The Marker Plus has an eraser on the end, so you can flip it over to rub out. It costs £40 more than the standard Marker bundle.
