Ecologi subscription

Last updated: 18 October 2026

Ecologi is a UK climate subscription: you pay a monthly fee and it funds tree planting plus certified projects that stop greenhouse gas emissions. An Ecologi subscription for one person starts at £4.70 a month, which funds 2 trees a month and 2.64 tonnes of avoided emissions a year. You also get a profile page that tracks your virtual forest and the projects you support.

How the Ecologi subscription works

You pick a monthly amount, and Ecologi splits it between tree planting and carbon avoidance projects. The carbon projects are certified under schemes such as Gold Standard and the Verified Carbon Standard.

Ecologi keeps the trees separate from the carbon figure. It says young trees take years to grow and their future carbon removal is hard to measure, so it counts them for habitat, biodiversity and local jobs instead.

Ecologi used to sell one-off tree bundles, including a gift of 100 trees. For individuals it now runs monthly plans only.

Ecologi plans and prices

  • Starter, £4.70 a month: 2 trees a month and 2.64 tonnes of emissions avoided a year
  • Essential, £9.40 a month: 4 trees a month and 8 tonnes avoided a year
  • Ultimate, £18.80 a month: 8 trees a month and 16 tonnes avoided a year
  • Family plan: £4.70 a month for each adult, £2.40 for each child and 50p for each pet, combined into one plan

Where the money goes

Ecologi lists the projects it funds on its site. On 18 October 2026 they included mangrove restoration in Pakistan, peatland restoration in the Peak District and South Pennines, native forest restoration at Dumyat in Scotland, agroforestry in Kenya and Guatemala, and fuel-efficient cookstoves in Uganda.

It publishes carbon credit certificates and tree-planting purchase records in what it calls its Public Impact Ledger, so you can check what was bought.

Who it suits

  • People who want a monthly climate habit: a set amount each month, with a profile that shows what it has funded.
  • Families: one plan can cover adults, children and pets at different rates.
  • Anyone already cutting their own footprint: Ecologi recommends using the subscription alongside reducing your own emissions.

For more ways to buy with a smaller footprint, see our gifts for the carbon conscious.

The limits

It does not cancel your own emissions. Ecologi says funding these projects is not the same as reducing your footprint, and that the trees are not counted as offsets.

It is a subscription, not a one-off gift. You cannot buy a set number of trees for someone as a present any more.

Ecologi is a for-profit company and a certified B Corporation, not a charity, so your payments are not charitable donations.

Where to sign up in the UK

FAQs

How much does an Ecologi subscription cost?

From £4.70 a month for the Starter plan, £9.40 for Essential and £18.80 for Ultimate.

Can I still gift 100 trees with Ecologi?

No. Ecologi no longer sells one-off tree bundles to individuals, only monthly subscriptions.

Is Ecologi a charity?

No. It is a for-profit company and a certified B Corporation.

Does Ecologi offset my carbon footprint?

Not in full. It funds projects that avoid a set amount of emissions, but Ecologi says this does not cancel your own emissions.

Is there a family plan?

Yes. Adults cost £4.70 a month, children £2.40 and pets 50p, combined into one plan.
