HAY Wall Clock by Jasper Morrison

Last updated: 8 November 2026

What it is

It is a round wall clock about the size of a dinner plate. It is made of aluminium, acrylic and polystyrene. It is 3.6cm deep, so it sits close to the wall.

The green version has a green face, white hands and a yellow second hand. The numbers run 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, so the hour hand points to 0 at noon. However, the time reads the same as on any clock, because only the labels change.

Also, the second hand sweeps rather than ticks. According to Finnish Design Shop, that means it makes no ticking sound, so it works in a bedroom as well as a kitchen.

Jasper Morrison and the clock family

Jasper Morrison designed the wall clock in 2008, and HAY makes it. It also has a desk-sized sibling, the Jasper Morrison Table Clock, which SCP sells for £95 in four colours.

So if you want a matching pair, the wall clock and the table clock together come to about £180 at the Nordic Nest and SCP prices, before delivery.

Price, delivery and where to buy

Nordic Nest has the green version at £85, against an RRP of £119. Delivery to the UK is £9.90, although it is free on small parcels over £99. So the clock alone comes to £94.90 delivered.

For comparison, SCP sells the wall clock at £119. As a result, the Nordic Nest price is £24.10 less than SCP's, even after delivery. Adding an AA battery to the order will not take it over £99, so expect to pay the £9.90.

Who it suits, and its limits

It suits a kitchen, a home office or a bedroom, because the sweeping hand is silent. It also suits anyone who already owns the table clock and wants the wall version to match.

However, the even numbers can slow down a child who is still learning to tell the time, because 3 o'clock sits between the 2 and the 4. The battery is also not included, so buy an AA with it if it is a present.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the HAY Wall Clock?

£85 at Nordic Nest for the green version, against an RRP of £119, when I checked on 13 October 2026. Delivery to the UK is £9.90.

Does it tick?

No, because it has a silent, sweeping second hand.

Who designed it?

Jasper Morrison designed it in 2008, and HAY makes it.

Why does it only show even numbers?

Jasper Morrison drew the dial that way. It counts 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 instead of 3, 6, 9 and 12, while the hands work the same as on any other clock.

What battery does it take?

One AA battery, which is not included.
