Corbin Shaw is a Sheffield-born artist based in east London who reworks flags, textiles and tabloid headlines to ask what Englishness means now. Here you will find the Corbin Shaw prints you can buy from his own shop, his recent shows, and our pages on his editions.
Our take on Corbin Shaw
Shaw was born in 1998 and studied at Central Saint Martins. His own site sums up his subject as “personal & national identity, modern day folklore and masculinity”, and he is best known for textiles and flags, above all his reworked St George’s cross.
He says he approaches British identity “with love, care, sympathy, criticism, and distance from the subject”. His 2023 show at Jealous East rebuilt a newsagent’s kiosk around The Sun’s headlines, and he has since worked with Fred Perry, the Pet Shop Boys and Team GB.
Shaw sells directly from his own studio shop. So Corbin Shaw prints start at £100 for the signed ENGL’ISH’ print, and his earlier Hard Cash edition of 50 has sold out.
