Ryan Gander is the British conceptual artist who coordinated the 2026 RA Summer Exhibition and opens a major show at Towner Eastbourne in November. Here you will find our take on his work, his shows, and the £600 RA print we feature.

Our take on Ryan Gander

Gander works across sculpture, film, writing, typefaces, apparel and painting, and prefers to call himself “a sort of neo-conceptual no-style-style amateur philosopher”, as Towner Eastbourne quotes him.

Maybe: Ryan Gander at Towner is his first UK solo exhibition in nearly 20 years. It includes a new animatronic mouse and the first showing of his For I am a Sign paintings, made with his son. Our RA edition comes from that series.

He coordinated the Royal Academy’s 2026 Summer Exhibition. His screen print for the RA is £600, and Waterstones stocks several of his books.
