Hope Pin by Giles Deacon

Last updated: 22 October 2026

Sold out: I checked the Hospital Rooms shop on 22 October 2026 and the Hope Pin was sold out. For similar presents, see our gifts that give back.

The Hope Pin by Giles Deacon is a £10 flower pin the fashion designer made for Hospital Rooms, the charity that brings art into NHS mental health wards. Money from each pin went to the charity's projects. Hospital Rooms still lists it at £10, but it has sold out.

What the Hope Pin by Giles Deacon is

The Hope Pin is a small pin shaped like a pink flower with a yellow centre and a green stem. Deacon designed it as a way for people to show support for the charity. In his words: "I designed this Hope-Pin as I wanted to create a wonderful way for people to show their support of Hospital Rooms."

Buyers were also asked to share what mental health means to them on Instagram or TikTok, with the tag #HopePin.

Who Giles Deacon is

Giles Deacon is a British fashion designer and the founder of the Giles Deacon group. He joined Paris Fashion Week in 2016 and is known for wild prints and pop culture references in his womenswear.

What Hospital Rooms does

The artist Tim A Shaw and the curator Niamh White started Hospital Rooms after visiting a friend in a mental health hospital and finding the ward cold and clinical. Their first project, in 2016, was at the Phoenix Unit, where artists including Nick Knight and Gavin Turk made work with patients and staff.

Since then the charity has installed 222 artworks across 32 projects and 65 wards, and run 1,462 creative workshops. Its about page has the full story.
