Everything Is Fucked is an A4 print from the comedian and painter Joe Lycett: the three words in chunky white letters over a dense painting of bright flowers. The Joe Lycett print is an open edition, unsigned, on 350gsm coated paper. His own shop sells it for £25, and a larger A2 version costs £40.
The background is a crowded flower painting in hot pink, cornflower blue, yellow and orange on a dark green ground. Across it, the words run down the sheet in big, wobbly white capitals, broken mid-word as "EVERY / THING / IS / FUCKED".
Until you read the words, it looks like a pretty flower print from a garden centre gift shop.
Lycett is best known for comedy and TV, but he paints too, often with his mother, the painter Helen Lycett. His first large solo art show, Every Thing Must Go, is on at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery until 21 February 2027, with free entry. The museum describes dozens of new paintings about nostalgia, grief and loss, from dead celebrities to discontinued snacks.
For more art that will not break the bank, our guide to affordable art in the UK lists fifteen prints and originals under £500.
It is an open edition and unsigned, so it is a poster to enjoy rather than a collectable print.
The swearing is the point, so it is not one for the office or a child's room.
It comes without a frame, so budget for an A4 frame as well.
Joe Lycett sells the print through his online shop, with an A2 version alongside. If you are in Birmingham, Every Thing Must Go at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery shows his paintings in person.
