Tapo P110M Smart Plug

Last updated: 4 October 2026

The Tapo P110M is a mini UK smart plug from TP-Link that measures how much electricity the appliance plugged into it uses. It is Matter certified, so it works with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa and SmartThings, and it handles loads up to 13A. On 4 October 2026 it cost £9.99 on Amazon UK, sold by Amazon, the same price as on Tapo's own UK store.

What the Tapo P110M does

It sits between a wall socket and an appliance and switches the power on and off from your phone, a voice assistant or a schedule. You can set an auto-off timer, so a heater or a hair straightener turns itself off after a set time.

The Tapo app also shows real-time power use and builds daily and monthly totals. Add your unit rate and it estimates what that appliance costs you to run. That makes it easy to see what a games console or an old fridge draws on standby.

Away Mode switches the plug on and off at random times while you are out, so a lamp makes the house look occupied.

Matter and setup

Matter is a shared standard that lets smart home devices from different brands work together. Because the P110M is Matter certified, you can add it straight to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or SmartThings by scanning the code on the plug.

To control it through Matter you need a Matter controller for your platform, such as an Apple TV, a HomePod mini, a Nest speaker or an Echo. Through the Tapo app on its own, the plug needs no hub at all.

Setup uses Bluetooth to find the plug, then it joins your Wi-Fi. It only connects to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, so if your router combines its bands under one name, check the 2.4GHz band is switched on.

The limits

TP-Link says it should not be used for EV charging, and not for appliances with motors above 1/6 horsepower, such as air conditioners. Check the wattage of anything high-powered against the 2,990W limit before you plug it in.

It is indoor only, so a garden light or a pond pump needs an outdoor plug instead.

TP-Link shows the energy readings and cost estimates in the Tapo app. So even if you switch the plug from Apple Home, Google Home or Alexa, you will want the Tapo app installed to see what it measures.

Where to buy it in the UK

Amazon UK sold the single plug for £9.99, sold by Amazon. The Tapo P110M product page has the full specification and lists twin packs, and Tapo's store charges for delivery under £29.99.
