Katharina Grosse is the German painter who sprays acrylic across rooms, buildings and landscapes. Here you will find the Katharina Grosse prints and editions you can buy in the UK, where her work is on show, recent auction results, and our 5/5 review of her 2026 White Cube Bermondsey show.
Our take on Katharina Grosse
Grosse paints with an industrial spray gun rather than a brush, and she does not stop at the canvas. Since her first sprayed room at Kunsthalle Bern in 1998 she has covered walls, floors, piles of soil, beds and clothes in bright, overlapping colour. “Painting has such an independence from space,” she says on White Cube’s exhibition page.
Her White Cube Bermondsey show this spring got 5/5 from me. “The rubble room is one of the most extraordinary single gallery spaces we have stepped into in years,” I wrote. “This is, unequivocally, a spectacle.”
Her canvases sell for six figures at auction, and Katharina Grosse prints are hard to find in the UK. The most affordable way in here is a textile edition from the South London Gallery.
