Steven Claydon is the London artist behind London Pixel, a small aluminium brick in an edition of eight. Here you will find our take on his sculpture, his recent shows, and the editions you can buy from £250.
Our take on Steven Claydon
Claydon makes sculpture, painting and installation about how objects are housed and shown. “My work has always been concerned with the ways objects are housed. This might be a storage crate or shipping container, a vitrine or a pedestal,” he told The MERL in 2018.
He was shortlisted for the first Hepworth Prize for Sculpture in 2016, and before that was a founding member of the electronic band Add N to (X). Tate holds London Pixel Array 21 (2012), made of 21 aluminium bricks.
In 2024 he was artist in residence at Kingsgate Workshops in London, which now sells his London Pixel edition from £250.
