What the ARTHOUSE Unlimited trinket tray actually is
It is a small ceramic dish, cut to a heart and glazed pillar-box red. A scalloped gold rim then runs right around the edge. Across the well, in loose white hand lettering, sit the words "Love is in the Air and it's Disgusting". Consequently the joke lands before you have finished reading it.
ARTHOUSE describes it as a home for jewellery, coins or keys. In practice, though, it is a bedside or hallway object. It ends up holding a wedding ring and a stray earring. Since it measures 12 x 11 x 1.5cm, it is a genuinely small dish rather than a bowl.
Portico Designs Ltd produce it under licence. So this is a manufactured ceramic carrying an artist's work, rather than a hand-thrown studio piece. It is priced accordingly, at £15.
Laura Cordwell, who made the artwork
The product page credits the design to Laura Cordwell, an ARTHOUSE Unlimited artist. Her own gallery page on the charity's site carries one line from her. "I like coming to ARTHOUSE because I like making art with my art instructor Zoe," she says.

It describes itself as "a charity that proudly showcases the talents of artists living with learning and physical disabilities". Currently it runs inclusive art sessions six days a week, at its site in Godalming, Surrey.
The artwork from those sessions then becomes the products in the shop. Through what the charity calls its beneficiary award scheme, it also offers "individual developmental and financial support to the artists without affecting personal benefit systems". That last clause matters, because benefit rules can otherwise punish a person for earning.
