This round moon jigsaw from BBOLDIN has 1,000 pieces and almost nothing but grey craters to go on, and it finishes 67.5cm across. Amazon UK had it at £20.95 when we checked on 5 October 2026, sold and shipped by Amazon US, with 4.5 out of 5 from 311 ratings. A poster of the finished picture comes in the box.
Most jigsaws start with the edge. A round puzzle has no corners and no straight sides, so there is no frame to build first. You can still pick out the curved outer pieces, but they all look alike, so each one has to be placed by its shape.
The picture does not help much either. The whole surface is shades of grey, so you sort by the size and shape of craters and by how light or dark a patch is. The pieces have letters printed on the back, which give you another way to split them into groups when the colours all look the same.
At 67.5cm across, the finished moon is a little deeper than a standard 60cm kitchen worktop, so it will not fit on most of one. A dining table works, or a puzzle board at least 70cm square. You will also want space beside it to spread out unsorted pieces.
Once it is done, you can glue it and hang it on the wall as a circle.
The listing is sold and shipped by Amazon US rather than Amazon UK, so it comes from the States. Check the delivery date at checkout if you are buying it for a birthday or for Christmas.
It suits someone who has done 1,000-piece puzzles before and wants a harder one, or anyone who likes space. A first-time puzzler may find a 1,000-piece grey circle more frustrating than fun.
For the real thing behind the picture, NASA's Moon pages name the craters and dark lunar seas you will see on the pieces.
