The Nintendo Alarmo (officially the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo) is an interactive alarm clock with built-in motion sensing and 35+ wake-up scenes from Nintendo games including Mario Odyssey, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4 and Ring Fit Adventure. £89.99 direct from Nintendo UK, also listed on Amazon UK at a markup. Below you'll find full product details and FAQs.
The Nintendo Alarmo, officially called the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, was announced in October 2024 and had its wider retail launch in March 2025. It's a standalone alarm clock made by Nintendo, not a gaming device. The hardware is a circular desk clock with a colour display and a large red dial on top, roughly the size of a grapefruit. A motion sensor on the front detects movement in bed and reacts in real time: waving at it can snooze the alarm, and getting out of bed stops it entirely without needing to touch the clock.
The clock plays music, sound effects and on-screen animations from five Nintendo Switch titles at launch, with additional themes added free over-the-air via Wi-Fi. Each theme contains seven alarms, giving 35 alarm options out of the box. A hardware update in 2025 added individual-day alarm scheduling, adjustable sleepy-sound durations, and improved scanning reliability.
Alarmo ships with scenes from five Nintendo Switch titles:
Since launch, Nintendo has added free themes for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Bros., Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. More are expected.
The Nintendo Alarmo retails at £89.99 at RRP. It's sold directly through My Nintendo Store UK, which is the official route and the cheapest option. It's also listed on Amazon UK via third-party sellers, typically at a markup above the £89.99 RRP but with the convenience of Amazon Prime delivery. Alarmo is not stocked by Argos, Currys, John Lewis, or other high-street retailers.
The Alarmo suits anyone already in the Nintendo ecosystem who'd appreciate a bit of whimsy on the bedside table. It's a popular gift for Switch owners, former Mario Kart-era dads, and younger gamers. It's designed for a single sleeper in a Twin to King-sized bed, with the motion sensor positioned within arm's reach. Nintendo recommends switching to Button Mode for shared beds, since the motion sensor can't distinguish between sleepers or pets.

No. The Alarmo is mains-powered via a USB Type-C cable. The AC adapter is not included, so you'll need a compatible USB-C charger to plug it in. A small internal backup battery preserves the time during power outages.
No. Alarmo uses a motion sensor, not a camera, to detect movement in bed. No movement data is transmitted to Nintendo.
The motion sensor may not work reliably with two sleepers or a pet sharing the bed. Nintendo recommends switching to Button Mode in that case, which disables motion sensing and makes Alarmo work like a traditional alarm clock.
At launch, Alarmo includes scenes from Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4 and Ring Fit Adventure. Additional themes for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Bros., Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Kirby and the Forgotten Land have been added free via Wi-Fi since launch.
No. The Alarmo works out of the box without a Nintendo Account. Linking an account is only required to download additional themes and receive over-the-air updates.
No. Nintendo has confirmed Alarmo is not a limited-time or limited-edition product. Stock can occasionally be patchy, but it's a standard ongoing product line.
