Nite Ize Gear Tie Cordable

Last updated: 4 October 2026

The Nite Ize Gear Tie Cordable is a reusable rubber twist tie made for charging cables. A stretchy loop at one end slips over the plug and stays on the cable, so when you coil the lead up, the tie is already there to wrap round it. On 4 October 2026 a pack of four 3-inch ties cost £4.83 on Amazon UK, rated 4.5 out of 5 from 4,090 ratings.

What the Gear Tie Cordable is

Nite Ize is an American company that makes small bits of everyday kit, and the Gear Tie is its reusable twist tie: a bendable wire inside a tough rubber skin, which you twist round things to hold them together. The Cordable is the slimmer version for cables.

Nite Ize's own description is that the "stretch-loop fits over the end of a cord and stays there for an easy way to wrap, organize, and identify cords." Because the tie lives on the cable, it does not end up at the bottom of a bag on its own.

How you use it

Push the loop over the USB plug at one end of the cable and slide it a little way down. When you put the cable away, coil it up, then twist the tie round the coil a couple of times. Untwist it to use the cable again, and the tie stays on the lead.

The four colours in the pack also tell cables apart. Put one colour on your phone lead and another on your partner's.
