Oakywood black steel under-desk cable tray with its mounting hooks

Oakywood Under-Desk Cable Tray

Last updated: 5 October 2026

The Oakywood under-desk cable tray is a powder-coated steel tray that hangs under the desktop and holds the extension lead, the plugs and the spare cable. It comes 60cm or 100cm long, in black or white, and on Oakywood's Etsy shop the 60cm costs £105.30 and the 100cm £137.21, before postage.

It is the tray under my own desk. I checked the prices on Oakywood's Etsy listing and the specification on Oakywood's own site on 5 October 2026.

What the Oakywood cable tray is

Oakywood is a Polish maker of desks and desk accessories. The tray is a steel trough, 15.5cm wide and 10cm deep, that screws under the desktop on a bracket. The bracket has a gravity lock, so the tray swings down to open, you add or move a cable, and it swings back up and locks.

It hangs 1cm below the desktop, so cables reach it from behind the desk even when the desk has no grommet holes.

Key facts

  • Price on Etsy: £105.30 for 60cm, £137.21 for 100cm, on 5 October 2026, postage extra
  • Sizes: 60 or 100cm long, 15.5cm wide, 10cm deep
  • Material: 1.5mm powder-coated steel
  • Colours: black or white
  • Opening: hinged bracket with a gravity lock
  • Fitting: screws to the underside of the desk, no grommet needed
  • Oakywood's own shop: 30-day returns and a 5-year warranty

Who it suits

  • Desks with a lot of plugs: an eight-way extension lead and its plugs fit inside, off the floor.
  • Anyone who changes their set-up: the tray drops down to open rather than being fixed shut.
  • Desks without grommets: the 1cm gap behind lets cables in.

The limits

£105.30 is a lot for a steel tray, and that is before postage. It also has to be screwed into the desk, so it does not suit a rented desk or one you cannot drill. Measure the underside first, because the 100cm version needs a desk wide enough to take it with the legs in place.

Where to buy it

Oakywood sells it on its Etsy shop and on its own site at oakywood.shop. It holds the cables in my best desk accessories guide.
