How to use the pillow spray

Spray it onto your pillow just before you get into bed. The scent sits on the fabric, so you breathe it in as you settle down.

This Works also sells 150ml, 250ml and 400ml refill sizes for people who use it every night.

What is in it

The blend is lavender, camomile and vetivert, which This Works calls its Superblend. Lavender and camomile are the familiar bedtime scents. Vetivert is an earthy, woody oil from the roots of a tropical grass.

This Works says the spray has been tested in an fMRI brain imaging study and in four independent user studies. In those studies, users reported falling asleep faster and waking more refreshed. They are self-reported results, and individual results vary.

The limits

A pillow spray is a scent, not a medicine. If you have trouble sleeping most nights, the NHS insomnia guidance covers sleep habits and when to see a GP.

If you share a bed with someone who dislikes lavender, keep the spray to your own pillow.

The £16.80 on Amazon UK is a discount on the £25 list price, so it may go back up.
