Toraphene caddy liners are compostable food waste bags reinforced with graphene, made in Britain and certified to EN 13432 for industrial composting. We use the 8 litre size in the waste bin of a PETKIT self-cleaning litter tray, because PETKIT does not sell a compostable liner of its own. A roll of 100 costs from £14.99 with free UK delivery, though only the 20 litre size was in stock when I checked the prices and stock on 12 October 2026.
What Toraphene caddy liners are
Toraphene is a British company that makes compostable bags from plant-based polymers, with graphene added to the material. Toraphene says the graphene helps the bag resist stretching and tearing, so it can hold wet waste without splitting. The liners are made for 8, 15 and 20 litre food waste caddies.
They carry two certifications: EN 13432 and OK Compost Industrial. Both cover industrial composting, where the facility controls the heat and moisture. Toraphene says they are not designed for a home compost heap.

Why we use them for cat litter
If you already use a plant-based litter, sealing it in a plastic bag works against the reason you chose it. Toraphene liners let us keep the bin free of plastic. The PETKIT Purobot Max 3 has a 7 litre waste bin, so the 8 litre liner fits it.
Across two years and two trays, we have never had one leak. They have split on us twice, and both times we put in another bag and carried on.

The limits of Toraphene caddy liners
Industrial composting only applies if the bag reaches an industrial composter. UK food waste collections do not accept cat litter, so used litter bags go in general waste, where they will not fully break down. For kitchen scraps, Toraphene suggests checking that your council accepts compostable liners.
Stock is patchy. The 8 and 15 litre sizes were sold out when I checked, so if you need the small size you may have to wait for a restock.
A roll of 100 small liners costs £14.99, which works out at about 15p a bag.
