What the Wonderboom 4 does
It plays 360-degree sound, so it works in the middle of a picnic blanket or a table rather than pointed at one person. The loop on top hangs it from a bag, a branch or a shower rail.
Outdoor Boost is a button that retunes the sound for listening outdoors. Podcast Mode brings voices forward for talk radio and audiobooks.
Bluetooth reaches up to 40 metres, so your phone can stay in a bag at the far end of the garden.
Built for water, sand and drops
The IP67 rating means it is sealed against dust and can be submerged in water. It also floats, so a speaker knocked into a pool or a river comes back up. Ultimate Ears drop-tests it from 1.5 metres, roughly shoulder height.
Pairing two speakers
Press the button once to link a second Wonderboom and play the same music from both. Press it again and the pair splits into left and right stereo.
It only pairs with another Wonderboom 3 or 4. It will not connect to a Wonderboom 1 or 2, or to the bigger Boom, Megaboom and Hyperboom speakers, so an older Wonderboom 2 cannot join it.
