Yes Friends Original T-shirt

Last updated: 26 October 2026

The Yes Friends Original T-shirt is a plain tee made from 100% Fairtrade and organic cotton, sewn in a solar-assisted factory by workers on a wage bonus scheme. It is the first T-shirt the British brand made, and it costs £12 direct from Yes Friends, in 19 colours and sizes from 3XS to 4XL.

What the Yes Friends T-shirt is

Sam Mabley launched Yes Friends in 2021 to make ethical clothing more affordable. The Original T-shirt came first, and the range now runs to jeans, jackets and fleeces.

The cotton is certified organic and Fairtrade, so the farmers are paid a set minimum for it. The brand says the factory runs partly on solar power, and garment workers get a bonus on top of their wages. At checkout you can also add a tip, and Yes Friends says all of it goes to the workers.

In September 2026 Mabley pitched the brand on Dragons' Den. Deborah Meaden offered £20,000 for a 2% stake, double the money he asked for, as Net Zero Compare reported.

The limits

It is a plain T-shirt. There is no print or pocket on this one, so it will not stand out on its own as a present.

It is only sold through Yes Friends. You will not find it on Amazon UK or on the high street, so delivery times and costs depend on the brand's own shipping.

Popular colours come and go. On 26 October 2026 153 of the 190 colour and size options were in stock, so check yours before you plan a gift around it.

At 185gsm it is a mid-weight cotton. If you want a thicker, boxier tee, Yes Friends sells a separate Classic Heavyweight T-shirt at £16.

Where to buy it in the UK

Yes Friends sells the Original T-shirt from its own website, which also has the size and care guide. The cotton carries the Fairtrade mark, and the Fairtrade Foundation sets out what that means for cotton farmers.
