Green Native Union Anchor Cable 240W with weighted knot on desk charging iPhone

Native Union Anchor Cable 240W

Last updated: 5 October 2026

The Native Union Anchor Cable 240W is a 3m braided USB-C to USB-C charging cable with a weighted knot you slide along it, so the end stays on your desk or bedside table instead of dropping behind the furniture. It carries up to 240W, enough for the most power-hungry USB-C laptops. On 5 October 2026 it cost £29.99 on Amazon UK in the Cosmos colour, shipped by Amazon.

What the weighted anchor does

The anchor is a heavy knot that slides along the cable. You push it to the point where the cable should stop, usually the edge of a desk or a bedside table. When you unplug your phone, the weight holds the free end in place, so you are not fishing for it on the floor at night.

Native Union says the anchor also takes some of the strain off the port on your device. That helps when a phone is charging on a bed or a laptop is on your knee, because the cable is not pulling sideways on the connector.

Charging speed and length

The cable supports USB Power Delivery 3.1 at up to 240W. It is USB-IF certified and has an E-Marker chip, which is the small chip that tells a charger the cable can safely carry that much power.

Your device and charger still set the speed. An iPhone or an iPad draws far less than 240W, so the extra headroom only matters for a big laptop with a matching charger. For a phone, the reasons to buy it are the length and the anchor.

At 3m, it reaches from a wall socket behind a bed or a sofa to wherever you are sitting.

Who it suits

  • Anyone charging in bed or on the sofa: 3m reaches from a socket behind the furniture, and the anchor keeps the plug end in reach.
  • A MacBook Pro or USB-C gaming laptop owner: the 240W rating covers the highest-power USB-C laptops, as long as the charger matches.
  • A desk shared by a phone, a tablet and a laptop: one USB-C cable handles all three.

If you also want power away from the socket, the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 10K power bank charges over USB-C at up to 60W. Our iPhone guides cover the current iPhone line-up and its accessories.

The limits

It only has USB-C at both ends. An older iPhone with a Lightning port, or a charger with a USB-A socket, needs a different cable.

The 240W figure needs a 240W charger and a device that asks for it. With a 20W phone charger, it charges at 20W like any other USB-C cable.

Native Union does not publish a data transfer speed for this cable, so treat it as a charging cable rather than one for moving large files or running an external display.

At 3m, it is too long to coil neatly in a small bag. For travel, a shorter cable takes up less space.

Where to buy it in the UK

Amazon UK listed the Cosmos colour at £29.99, shipped by Amazon. The Native Union Anchor Cable 240W product page shows all four colours and the full specification.
