What is the C60 Pool Diver?

First, the basics. The C60 Pool Diver is a limited-order dive watch from British brand Christopher Ward. Moreover, it is a rework of the popular C60 Reef, reimagined by Romaric Andre of seconde/seconde/. He is the same designer behind the brand's much-loved C65 Desk Diver.

So what is the joke? Essentially, Christopher Ward calls it the first "decompression diver". Rather than timing your dive, the dial gently times your holiday instead. As a result, it pokes fun at our schedule-everything, productivity-obsessed culture.

Importantly, this is not a numbered limited edition. Instead, the run is limited by the order window. In other words, you can order one only between 11 and 24 June 2026, and then the door shuts.

A dial that schedules your sunbathing

Here is where it gets fun. The sandblasted white dial is split into five zones. Each zone prescribes an activity and a duration, with a matching icon on the bezel.

Consequently, the commands run from "READ" to "SUNBATHE", then "RELAX" to "FLEX", and finally "CONTEMPLATE" and "CONSIDER YOUR LIFE CHOICES". The martini date window and caseback jokes

Of course, the gags do not stop at the dial. Cleverly, the date window is shaped like a martini glass and labelled "MAX UNITS PER DAY". Christopher Ward is quick to add a wink, though, because the caseback is engraved with "PLEASE, DON'T DRINK AND DIVE".

Meanwhile, the laser-etched caseback brings back the seconde/seconde/ pictogram from the Desk Diver. This time, the flippers become flip-flops, the paperclip tank becomes a sun-cream dispenser, and the diver carries a mocktail.

Still a serious dive watch

Despite the humour, the C60 Pool Diver is properly built. Notably, the 41mm steel case is water-resistant to 200m, so you could genuinely dive with it. Furthermore, it carries a white ceramic unidirectional bezel and a flat anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

Cleverly, the case also features a helium-escape valve. Functionally, the valve lets trapped helium atoms escape during decompression. Even better, it is laser-etched and lacquer-filled with a tiny tropical-island motif. Plus, Super-LumiNova on the hands and indices keeps everything legible in low light.

Inside: the Sellita SW200-1 movement

Underneath the playful exterior sits a serious engine. Specifically, the C60 Pool Diver runs the Swiss-made Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement. As a result, you get a reliable, self-winding workhorse with a strong reputation.

In terms of numbers, the 26-jewel movement beats at 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and holds a 38-hour power reserve. Additionally, it includes hacking seconds and an anti-shock system. Therefore it should keep good time even after the odd poolside knock.

Now for the important part. The C60 Pool Diver starts at £895 on an Aquaflex rubber strap, available in orange, blue or white. Alternatively, the steel Bader bracelet pushes the price to £1,060.

However, timing matters more than usual here. Because this is an order-window release, Christopher Ward only takes orders until 24 June 2026. After that, the watch quietly disappears. According to the brand, delivery currently runs from the end of October 2026, so it is one to buy with patience rather than urgency on your wrist.

For context, seconde/seconde/ is the project of French designer Romaric Andre. Essentially, he "remixes" existing watches with witty, hand-finished tweaks. Together with Christopher Ward, he previously created the C65 Desk Diver, which played the same trick on office life.
