Open Funk re:Mix blender in white sprinkled recycled plastic with a glass jar screwed onto the blade head

Open Funk re:Mix Blender

Last updated: 19 October 2026

The Open Funk re:Mix blender is a 1000W kitchen mixer that blends straight into a glass jar, built in Berlin with a casing made from 100% recycled plastic. Open Funk has it on sale at €299, about £252, down from €399. It only ships to the EU and Switzerland, so UK buyers need a forwarding address such as Forward2me.

What the re:Mix blender is

Open Funk is a small Berlin company making home electronics that can be opened and fixed. Its re:Mix is a blender with no plastic jug. Instead, you screw a glass jar onto the blade head, blend, and keep the drink or sauce in the same jar.

The design is open too. Open Funk publishes the build files, parts list and assembly guide on GitHub under the CERN Open Hardware Licence.

What it does

  • Blends into a jar: a 565ml jar comes in the box, and the head takes other jars with a matching lid.
  • 1000W motor: enough power for smoothies, sauces and frozen fruit.
  • Repairable: Open Funk builds it to be opened and fixed rather than replaced.
  • Recycled casing: the outer panels are 100% recycled plastic, so every unit's pattern is slightly different.

Key facts

  • Price: €299 on sale, about £252 at the European Central Bank exchange rate on 19 October 2026; list price €399, taxes included
  • Colours in stock: Mono White Sprinkled and Mono White Floreale
  • Power: 1000W
  • In the box: re:Mix body, blade head, jar lid, 565ml jar, unlocker tool and user manual
  • Shipping weight: 3.25kg
  • Delivery: free on orders over €50 within Open Funk's delivery area, dispatched within seven working days by DHL
  • Guarantees: 30-day refund period and a two-year limited warranty

Getting the re:Mix blender to the UK

Open Funk's country list covers the EU countries and Switzerland, but not the UK. So the route for a UK buyer is a parcel forwarding service with an address inside the EU.

Our Forward2me parcel forwarding guide walks through it. You order the blender to a free Forward2me address in Germany, and Forward2me ships it on to you. When I checked, its calculator priced a 4kg parcel from Germany to the UK from €28.55.

In addition, budget for import charges. The blender costs well over £135, and GOV.UK says goods above that value carry VAT, with duty possible on top.

Who the re:Mix suits

  • People who want to repair rather than replace: the design files are published, and the casing opens up.
  • Kitchens full of jars: blend and store in the same jar.
  • Design fans: the recycled panels give each unit its own pattern.

The limits

For UK buyers, the route is long. You pay the blender price, the forwarding fee and possibly VAT, and returns to Berlin cost extra.

The re:Mix ships with a European plug. You will need a UK adapter or a plug change.

The jar is small. At 565ml, the supplied jar suits one or two drinks rather than batch cooking.

Finally, stock moves. Most colours were sold out when I checked, so check the colour you want before you order.

Where to buy the re:Mix

Open Funk sells it direct from its own shop. It is not sold on Amazon UK.
