The new Apple TV 4K is Apple's streaming box rebuilt around Siri AI, with an A19 chip, three far-field microphones so you can talk to it without the remote, and a Siri Remote you can find with Find My. There is now one model, with 128GB and Ethernet, at £299 on Apple's UK store. Pre-orders opened on 13 October 2026 and Apple says it arrives from Friday 13 November. I checked the price and dates on Apple's UK store on 13 October 2026.
First, you can talk to it hands-free. Three far-field microphones pick up "Siri" or "Hey Siri" across the room, even while a film is playing. Ask what to watch and the answer fills the screen with posters from the Apple TV app. Ask a question mid-episode and the answer appears in a small overlay.
Second, it is faster. Apple says the A19 chip gives up to 50% faster CPU performance and up to twice the graphics performance of the 2022 model. The chip also has a dedicated AV1 decoder, which streams high-quality video using less bandwidth.
Third, the new Siri Remote works with Find My. It supports Precision Finding with a recent iPhone, and it can play a sound. Apple also sells it separately, and it works with older Apple TV boxes.
Finally, the Apple TV 4K now does four-speaker surround sound with four HomePod mini 2 speakers, or four second-generation HomePods, in matching front and rear pairs. Apple calls it "our most immersive home theatre experience yet", in the words of Bob Borchers, its vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, in Apple's announcement.
So the cheapest way into a new Apple TV costs £100 more than it did the day before the event. There is no longer a cheaper Wi-Fi-only version.
The full list is on Apple's Apple TV 4K technical specifications page.
Siri AI is not limited to the new box. Apple says it also runs, as a beta in tvOS 27.2, on the Apple TV 4K from the second generation (2021) onwards. However, the hands-free microphones, the A19 and four-speaker surround sound are new-model only.
My own Apple TV is too old for Siri AI, so the new box is the one that would bring it to my living room. Even so, Siri AI on an iPhone is still uneven. My Siri AI review found connection errors at least three times a day over three weeks. So check how it behaves on the TV in the first reviews before paying £299 for it alone.
It costs more than most streaming sticks, and you still need to buy an HDMI cable.
Siri AI needs the owner of the home in the Home app to have an Apple Intelligence iPhone or iPad. In addition, it launches in English only, and hands-free "Siri" depends on the tvOS language you choose.
Streaming services still cost extra. My MUBI UK guide covers one of the film apps that runs on it.
Apple takes pre-orders on its UK store and in the Apple Store app, with availability from 13 November 2026.

I buy Apple Gift Cards in the JamDoughnut app, then spend them with Apple. JamDoughnut paid 2% instant cashback on Apple Gift Cards when I checked on 13 October 2026. The card covers hardware from an Apple Store or apple.com, plus App Store purchases and iCloud+. I bought my Mac this way. Apple takes up to eight gift cards per order, but not alongside PayPal or Apple financing.
Rates can change, so check the app before you buy. My JamDoughnut page uses a referral link.

Yes, from the second generation onwards, as a beta in tvOS 27.2. The far-field microphones are new-model only, so on an older box you still press the remote's Siri button.
The new model has an A19 chip instead of the A15, three microphones, Wi-Fi 7, an AV1 decoder, four-speaker HomePod surround sound and a remote that works with Find My. It also costs £299 instead of £199 or £249.
