The Briiv 2 air filter is a glass-domed air purifier, built in Yorkshire, that pulls air through moss, coconut fibre and a nano matrix rather than a plastic filter cartridge. Briiv says one unit cleans a 4 by 4 metre room in 21 minutes.
It costs £329 with the first year's filters in the box. After that, a year of moss filters is £35. Prices and stock were checked on Briiv's own shop on 21 September 2026.
What happened to the original Briiv
The original Briiv, which we listed at £349, now shows as sold out on Briiv's own shop. In its place, Briiv sells two newer units, the Briiv 2 at £329 and the Briiv 2 Pro at £399.
You can still buy an original, but only refurbished, at £149 with 12 months of new filters. Briiv says refurbished originals are not guaranteed to work with the current Briiv app, and that pairing one can damage its firmware. So treat a refurbished original as a purifier you switch on and leave, without the app.
How the Briiv 2 air filter works
A fan in the base pulls air up through three layers stacked inside the glass dome. Each layer catches something different, according to Briiv's technology page and filter listings:
- Yorkshire moss. Dried sphagnum moss catches the larger particles, such as pollen and pet dander. You can hand wash it and put it back.
- Coconut fibre. A dense mat made from waste coconut husk traps dust, dirt and smoke.
- Nano matrix. A small nanofibre filter with activated carbon catches the finest particles and odours. It is the one part you swap every three months.
If smells bother you more than pollen, you can swap the moss for an activated carbon layer made from waste organic material. Briiv 2 or Briiv 2 Pro
The two units clean the air in the same way, with the same claim of a 4 by 4 metre room in 21 minutes. The Briiv 2 Pro, at £399, adds air-quality sensors, so the app can show you readings from your room as well as filter health.
For one room, the Briiv 2 does the cleaning for £70 less. The Pro makes sense if you want to see numbers for your air, or if you plan to link units later. Every one of Briiv's multi-room bundles is built around at least one Pro.
Linking units for bigger spaces
Briiv sells three bundles. Each one costs less than buying the same units one at a time, and every unit comes with its own year of filters.

Bought separately, the Large Room pair would cost £728, so the bundle saves £148. The Single Floor System saves £252 and the Full House System saves £529. A 6 by 5.5 metre space is about the size of an open-plan kitchen and dining room.
What the Briiv 2 costs to run
The first year's filters come in the box. From the second year, the simplest route is one of Briiv's one-year filter sets. Each holds one main filter, one coconut disc and four nano matrix filters, which covers a full year.

On moss, then, a Briiv 2 costs £329 in year one and £35 a year after that. Three years comes to £399, which is what the Pro costs on day one.

Does the Briiv 2 work with Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home or Matter?
No. It runs on Briiv's own app and nothing else. It does not work with Matter, Apple Home, Alexa or Google Home, so it will not appear in a smart home hub or respond to a voice assistant. Are the refurbished Briivs worth it?
The refurbished Briiv 2 Pro is £199, which is £200 less than a new one, and it comes with 12 months of new filters. The listing does not state a guarantee length, so ask Briiv's support team before you buy. The refurbished original is £149, but Briiv does not guarantee it works with the current app. Buy that one only if you are happy to run it without the app.
Can I still buy the original Briiv?
Not new. The original shows as sold out on Briiv's shop. The only way to get one is refurbished, at £149.
