What the Alessi Diva watering can is

Diva is a watering can Aarnio designed for Alessi, sold under the product code AEA03 W. Alessi makes it in one material, white thermoplastic resin, so there is no metal to rust and nothing to polish.

It holds 1.5 litres. The water alone weighs 1.5kg when it is full, so it stays easy to carry from plant to plant. The can is 28cm long and only 10.8cm wide, so it sits on a windowsill without taking over.

Who designed it

Eero Aarnio was born in Finland in 1932. In the 1960s he started working with plastics, bright colours and rounded shapes, and his Ball chair (1963), Pastil chair (1968) and Bubble chair (1968) came out of that period.

His work is in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, MoMA in New York and the Vitra Design Museum.

The limits

At 1.5 litres it is an indoor can. Watering a garden bed or a row of patio pots with it means going back to the tap again and again, so buy a larger outdoor can for that.

Stock is the other catch. Alessi UK had the Diva out of stock on 4 October 2026, with only a "notify me" button. That leaves Amazon UK as the main new-stock route, and Amazon showed 15 left, so the price could move if that sells through.

Alessi UK lists only the white version. Check the colour in the Amazon listing title before you order, so you get the white AEA03 W.

Where to buy it in the UK

Amazon UK sells the white Diva directly, with Amazon as both seller and shipper. Alessi lists it on its UK product page at £55, with free returns within 60 days once it is back in stock.

The Alessi Blip spoon rest is another small Alessi piece for under £30.
