The Eve Play is a small box that adds AirPlay to speakers or an amplifier you already own, through RCA, optical or coaxial outputs. It costs £99.99 on Amazon UK, sold by Amazon, and it needs an iPhone or iPad to set up.
It runs my original Harman Kardon SoundSticks over AirPlay. I checked the price on Amazon UK and the specification on Eve's own page on 5 October 2026.

Eve makes Apple Home accessories, and the Play is its audio streamer. It joins your Wi-Fi, appears as a speaker in the AirPlay menu on an iPhone, iPad or Mac, and passes the sound on to whatever it is plugged into: powered speakers, an amplifier, an AV receiver or a soundbar.
Inside is a Texas Instruments PCM5122A digital-to-analogue converter, which Eve rates at a 112dB signal-to-noise ratio. Because it is an AirPlay speaker, it also plays in sync with other AirPlay speakers in the house.
Eve Play sends a line-level signal, so it needs something with its own amplifier: powered speakers, a hi-fi amp, an AV receiver or a soundbar. It will not drive passive speakers on their own. Eve says to set the volume on the phone to maximum and control the level on the speakers or amplifier.
If the Wi-Fi is weak where the speakers sit, the Ethernet port gives a steadier stream.
It works over AirPlay, which iPhones, iPads and Macs have built in and most Android phones and Windows PCs do not. Set-up needs an iPhone or iPad. It is also a streamer only, with no amplifier inside.
Amazon UK sells it at £99.99, sold by Amazon. The full specification is on Eve's Eve Play page. It is pick 09 in my best desk accessories guide.

No. It outputs a line-level signal, so it needs powered speakers, an amplifier, an AV receiver or a soundbar.
It is an AirPlay device and needs an iPhone or iPad to set up, so it is built for Apple devices.
RCA analogue, optical digital and coaxial digital.
Yes. It is an AirPlay speaker, so it groups with other AirPlay speakers, and Eve's Audio Sync keeps them in time.
