Oura Ring 4 Smart Ring

Last updated: 4 October 2026

The Oura Ring 4 is a titanium smart ring that tracks your sleep, heart rate, activity and stress from your finger, with no screen and up to eight days between charges. Oura has since launched the smaller Oura Ring 5, but still lists the silver Ring 4 at £349, and most of the app's insights need a membership at £5.99 a month or £69.99 a year. On 4 October 2026 Amazon UK listed the silver Oura Ring 4 at £199, sold by Amazon, with delivery quoted for 8 to 10 December.

What the Oura Ring 4 tracks

Sensors on the inside of the ring read your heart rate and heart rate variability around the clock, along with your breathing rate, skin temperature trends, blood oxygen and movement. Oura says the pulse signal at the finger is much stronger than at the top of the wrist.

The Oura app turns those readings into daily scores for sleep, readiness and activity, and breaks your night into sleep stages. Oura states that the ring is not a medical device and is not meant to diagnose or treat anything.

There is nothing to look at on the ring itself. Everything appears in the app on your phone, so it suits people who want the data without another screen buzzing at them.

Key facts

  • Material: titanium
  • Battery: up to eight days, according to Oura
  • Water resistance: to 100 metres, so it can be worn in the shower and the pool
  • Sizes: 4 to 15
  • Tracks: heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, temperature trends, blood oxygen, sleep stages and activity
  • Rating: 4.2 out of 5 from 8,871 ratings on Amazon UK

Who it suits

  • People who will not sleep in a smartwatch: a ring is smaller and lighter on the hand overnight.
  • Anyone tracking recovery: the daily readiness score is built from the overnight readings, so it is there when you wake up.
  • People who want health data without notifications: there is no screen, so nothing lights up during a meeting.

The limits

The Ring 4 is no longer Oura's newest ring. The Oura Ring 5, which Oura says is 40% smaller, costs £399 in silver, so the Ring 4 is now the cheaper, older model.

The membership adds to the cost. Without it the ring works with limited features only, so budget £69.99 a year on top of the ring if you pay annually.

Sizing matters more than with a watch. Oura recommends trying its sizing kit before you buy, and Amazon's listing title says the same. Oura says its sizes differ from standard ring sizes and has no half sizes, so do not guess from a ring you already own.

The Amazon price comes with a wait. On 4 October 2026 the £199 listing quoted delivery for 8 to 10 December, more than two months away, while buying direct from Oura costs £150 more.
