The Philips Hue Gradient Lightstrip is a 2 metre LED strip that shows more than one colour at once and blends between them along its length. It gives up to 1800 lumens, comes with its power supply and extends to 10 metres. It is £108.06 on Amazon UK, against £139.99 at Hue, which had it out of stock when I checked both prices on 31 October 2026.

An ordinary lightstrip is one colour at a time. In contrast, the gradient version addresses sections of the strip separately, so it can run from pink at one end to amber at the other. It sticks behind a headboard, under a bed, along a shelf or behind a TV, and the silicone strip bends round corners. The full specification is on Philips Hue's product page.
It works over Bluetooth without a hub. Even so, a Hue Bridge adds scenes with other lights, switches, sensors, remote control and Matter; see my Hue Bridge Pro review. Apple Home automations need a home hub such as a HomePod mini or an Apple TV 4K, and for Alexa the Echo Hub or Echo Dot Max.
Hue rates it at 20W and 0.5W in standby. So at four hours a day on and twenty off, that is about 32.9kWh a year, or £8.65 at the 26.32p average rate under Ofgem's October to December 2026 price cap. However, Hue does not list an energy label for the strip on its product page.
It is expensive for 2 metres, and the extensions cost extra, so measure the run before you buy. Like the Hue bulbs, it draws power in standby so the app can reach it.
Amazon UK had the 2 metre base kit at £108.06 from a third-party seller on 31 October, with two left in stock. My best smart lighting guide explains where I use mine, and my smart home guides gather the rest.

2 metres in the base kit. Hue sells extensions that take it up to 10 metres, so measure the run first.
No. It works over Bluetooth. That said, the Bridge adds scenes, switches, sensors and Matter.
About £8.65 a year at four hours a day, including standby, at the October to December 2026 price cap average rate.
Prices and stock change, so check the current price before you buy. Running costs depend on your own electricity tariff.
