In short
Our Zopa Biscuit referral link has expired, so the old £10 sign-up bonus is no longer available through this page. The Biscuit current account itself is still live, and it still pays 2% interest, 2% cashback on bills and a 7.10% AER regular saver rate. For now, though, you might prefer our live Monzo offer instead, where the current bonus is a randomly chosen amount between £5 and £50 (most people receive around £10). If we get a fresh Zopa link, we will update this page straight away.
Yes, for now. Our Zopa Biscuit referral link has expired, so it no longer pays out the £10 that it used to. We have therefore removed the old link rather than leave a dead offer on the page. Zopa tends to run its refer-a-friend scheme in waves, so a new link may well appear later. As soon as it does, we will add it back here.
Meanwhile, the account has not gone anywhere. You can still open Biscuit directly through the Zopa app. However, you simply will not get a referral bonus from us while the link is down.
If a sign-up bonus is what brought you here, our live Monzo offer is the current one. Its refer-a-friend reward is a randomly chosen amount between £5 and £50, and most people receive around £10. Of course, the exact amount changes from time to time, so it is worth checking the live figure before you apply.
You can see the current bonus, the qualifying steps and the full terms on our Monzo offer page.
Although the bonus has gone, Biscuit remains one of the stronger free current accounts in the UK. Here is what the account still offers.
7.10% AER regular saver: Save up to £300 a month into a linked pot at one of the higher regular saver rates around. Each pot runs for six months, after which the balance moves to the easy-access Smart Saver pot. This rate is variable.
2% AER on your balance: You earn interest on everything in the account. In addition, this rate is fixed for 12 months from opening, then becomes variable.
2% cashback on bills: All Direct Debits qualify, with cashback on up to £1,500 of payments a year. As a result, you can earn up to £30 annually. Zopa sometimes runs a higher promotional rate, so it is worth checking the current terms.
Fee-free spending abroad: Use the card overseas at the real Visa rate with no foreign transaction fees. ATM withdrawals are free up to £200 per 30-day period.
Naturally, no account is perfect, so weigh up the trade-offs first. The 2% balance rate is guaranteed for 12 months only, and it can drop afterwards. Similarly, the 7.10% regular saver rate is variable and tracks the Bank of England base rate.
Biscuit also does not support the full Current Account Switch Service yet, so you would need to move any Direct Debits across by hand. Finally, it is a digital-only account, which means there are no branches and no cash or cheque deposits. For that reason, many people keep it as a second account alongside their main bank.
Yes. Zopa is a fully licensed UK bank, authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Eligible deposits are protected up to £120,000 per eligible person per UK-authorised bank, building society or credit union by the FSCS (since 1 December 2025).
Not at the moment. Our Zopa Biscuit referral link has expired, so the £10 bonus is paused. However, we will update this page as soon as a new link goes live.
For many people, yes. Even without the bonus, the 2% interest, 2% cashback and 7.10% regular saver make it a competitive free account. For a fuller breakdown, see our Biscuit bank account review.
Right now, the live bonus we have is Monzo's, a randomly chosen amount between £5 and £50, with most people receiving around £10. You can grab the current offer on our Monzo offer page.
