The Bookshop.org Easter giveaway ran over the 2026 Easter weekend, and it was one of the simplest prize draws going. Anyone who bought a book from Bookshop.org between 3 and 6 April 2026 was entered automatically into a draw for a £400 digital gift card. No forms, no codes, no hoops. This page is kept as a record of how the draw worked, and as a pointer to what is running now.
How the Bookshop.org Easter giveaway works
The promotion ran from Friday 3 April to the end of Monday 6 April 2026 (Easter weekend). Every purchase made on uk.bookshop.org during that window counted as an entry into the prize draw. Physical books, ebooks and gift cards all qualified, so even last-minute digital purchases counted.
One winner received a £400 digital gift card, redeemable on Bookshop.org. The gift card value never expires, and it gets added to your account as store credit. In other words, it is a very generous book voucher with no strings attached.
Why Bookshop.org is worth your money
If you have not used Bookshop.org before, here is the short version. It is an online bookshop built specifically to support independent bookshops across the UK. When you buy a book, 30% of the cover price goes directly to a local bookshop of your choice. If you do not pick one, 10% goes into a shared pool distributed to all participating indie bookshops. As a result, your money goes to the people who actually care about books rather than padding the margins of a tech giant.
Additionally, Bookshop.org is a certified B Corporation, meaning it meets strict standards for social and environmental performance. It also offers carbon neutral delivery. For anyone who cares about where their money ends up, this is about as good as online book buying gets.

Not sure what to buy? We have put together a list of the greatest books of all time on Bookshop.org. It pulls from over 600 "best of" lists and covers everything from literary classics to modern page-turners. Whether you are after fiction, non-fiction, or something to finally tick off the bucket list, it is a solid starting point.
Alternatively, you could pick up an ebook. Bookshop.org launched its ebook platform in the UK in late 2025, so you can now buy digital editions and still support your local indie bookshop. That makes it a genuine alternative to Amazon's Kindle ecosystem.
