Anish Kapoor Glow print: a soft white light on a deep blue and violet ground, in a violet border.

Anish Kapoor Print: Glow for Hospital Rooms

Last updated: 11 October 2026

This Anish Kapoor print is Glow, a 2023 work he has given to Hospital Rooms, the UK charity that commissions art for NHS mental health wards. It is the tenth and final poster in the charity's 10 Posters for 10 Years series. It costs £100 for an A2 giclée print, and it is on sale for ten days only, from 14 October until 24 October 2026. Every sale funds the charity's work on psychiatric wards. I checked the price and dates on the Hospital Rooms shop on 11 October 2026.

What the Anish Kapoor Glow print shows

A soft white light hangs across the middle of the sheet, as if something is shining through a cloud. Around it, the paper is soaked in deep blue and violet, darkening to near-black in the bottom right corner. A band of magenta runs underneath the light, so the glow looks as though it is resting on something. The edges of the paper are left rough, and there is no hard line anywhere in the picture.

Kapoor made the original in 2023. The poster reproduces it as a giclée, which is a high-quality inkjet print made with archival pigment inks.

When you can buy it

Hospital Rooms launches Glow at Frieze London on Wednesday 14 October, the first day of the fair in Regent's Park. It goes on sale online the same day. Sales close on Saturday 24 October, and the charity says that date is strict.

Until 14 October the shop page reads "Coming Soon", with a countdown. If you want one, put the dates in your diary now, because this is the last drop of the series and nothing comes after it.

Our Frieze London guide has tickets and opening times if you would rather see the launch in person.

Where the money goes

Hospital Rooms was set up in 2016 by the artist Tim A Shaw and the curator Niamh White, after a friend of theirs was admitted to a mental health unit and they found it cold and clinical. Since then it has commissioned 360 artists for 65 wards across 32 projects. It also runs a Digital Art School of creative workshops for people on those wards.

The 10 Posters for 10 Years series marks the charity's tenth anniversary. Ten artists each gave a work, and a full set of all ten posters is going to more than 1,000 NHS mental health hospitals, which The Art Newspaper puts at 10,000 artworks in all. So Glow will hang on those wards as well as in buyers' homes.

Every sale supports the charity's Futures Fund, which pays for new art and creative programmes in mental health settings across the UK.

Anish Kapoor and Hospital Rooms

Kapoor won the Turner Prize in 1991, and his public works include Cloud Gate in Chicago and the ArcelorMittal Orbit in the Olympic Park. He is represented in London by Lisson Gallery.

This is not his first poster for the charity. In May 2020 his Breathing Blue opened a run of six Hospital Rooms posters at £50 each, alongside Cornelia Parker and Richard Wentworth, according to The Art Newspaper.

His Hayward Gallery show runs until 18 October, so the two overlap by four days. Our Anish Kapoor Hayward Gallery review covers the exhibition, and our Hospital Rooms poster sale post covers the September drop from Grayson Perry, Chantal Joffe, Celia Paul and Jules de Balincourt.

Who it suits

  • People who saw the Hayward show: it is a Kapoor for your own wall at £100.
  • Anyone buying a gift that gives back: the money goes to a charity putting art on psychiatric wards.
  • People who want colour on a wall without a busy picture: it is one shape of light on a dark ground, with nothing else competing.

The catches

The price is for the print alone. It comes unframed, and an A2 frame adds to the cost.

Hospital Rooms hasn't published delivery details for Glow yet. In the September drop, the charity printed the posters after the sale closed and dispatched them by 1 December. So if Glow follows the same pattern, it may arrive close to Christmas rather than straight away.

The September posters were numbered but unsigned, and the Glow listing doesn't mention a signature either. Treat it as a poster to hang rather than a signed Kapoor edition.
