Grubby RecipesNovember 2026 Edit
Five plant-based dinners for bonfire weekend and the cold that follows

The best Grubby recipes November 2026 has on offer are a loaded sweet potato, a shepherdless pie, an Irish stew, a one-pan gnocchi and a tofu casserole. November has four Grubby menus, so I took one dinner from each. The fifth stays on every menu all month, so there is something to order whichever week you start.

Four November menus, one dinner from each

Grubby's menus run from a Thursday to the following Tuesday, and November has four of them.

Each November menu carries 30 meal-kit dishes. Across the month that adds up to 96 different dinners, and most of them appear on one menu only. So rather than five favourites from one list, I took one dinner from each menu, plus a new tofu casserole that runs all month. That is how I chose the best Grubby recipes November has to offer, and the delivery dates sit next to each one below.

PickRecipeOn the menu for delivery
014 Bean Chilli Loaded Sweet Potatoes, #2765 to 10 Nov
02Rich Shepherdless Pie & Buttery Greens, #37412 to 17 Nov
03Oven-Baked Meaty Mushroom & Root Veg Irish Stew, #26719 to 24 Nov
04Fiery ’Nduja Tomato & Butterbean Gnocchi, #33726 to 30 Nov
05Zingy Tofu and Fennel Casserole, #658Every November menu

Changes close at 11.59pm four nights before delivery. That means a Friday box locks on the Monday before, and a Thursday box locks on the Sunday. Thursday 5 November boxes have already closed, so the first box you can still fill from this list is Friday 6 November. It locks at 11.59pm on Monday 2 November.

I checked every dish, figure and delivery date on Grubby's menus and recipe pages on 23 October 2026.

Section 02 / The picks

The best Grubby recipes November has, week by week

Prep times, 5 a day scores and allergens come from each dish's own recipe page, and the nutrition figures are per portion.

01 For bonfire weekend

4 Bean Chilli Loaded Sweet Potatoes, Guac & Rose Harissa Mayo

Grubby customers rate recipe #276 at 4.6 out of 5, and it carries Grubby's Fan Favourite tag. First, the sweet potatoes go in the microwave for eight to ten minutes, then into a hot oven for fifteen to twenty to crisp the skins. Meanwhile, half the onion softens in a pan with a Mexican spice blend. After that, mixed beans, tomato paste, stock and rose harissa simmer for four or five minutes until thick.

for a jacket potato with chilli after the fireworks

Bonfire Night falls on Thursday 5 November, and this menu covers the weekend after it. The rest of the onion goes into a quick guacamole with avocado, lime and tomato. It scores five of your five a day with 25g of fibre, and only 5g of saturated fat.

Where it falls down: it has the least protein of my five, at 17g, and the most calories, at 794. It also needs a microwave as well as an oven. Because it is on this one menu only, it has to go in a box delivered between 6 and 10 November.

02 For the first frosty week

Rich Shepherdless Pie & Buttery Greens

Recipe #374 is rated 4.5 out of 5. Potatoes boil for fifteen minutes while onion, carrot and mushrooms soften in a deep pan. Next, garlic, Italian herbs, tomato paste and a tin of lentils go in, followed by stock, tamari, Henderson's Relish and onion jam. It simmers for seven or eight minutes, then the mash goes on top with nutritional yeast and it grills until crisp.

for a pie that is ready in 40 minutes on a weeknight

For a pie, the figures are low: 587 calories, 24g of protein, 20g of fibre and just 1g of saturated fat. That is the lowest saturated fat of my five, and it carries the Low Sat Fat and No Gluten tags. Green beans go on the side.

Where it falls down: Grubby's recipe page shows no 5 a day score for it, so I cannot tell you how many portions of veg it counts as. You also need your own plant-based butter for the mash, and a grill. It is on the 12 November menu only.

03 For a slow Sunday

Oven-Baked Meaty Mushroom & Root Veg Irish Stew

Rated 4.5 and another Fan Favourite, recipe #267 starts with a rolling pin. You flatten the meaty mushrooms, which are made from soya, and fry them until crisp. Then onion, chopped portobello mushrooms and garlic soften in the same pan with a spoonful of flour and thyme. Finally, everything goes into one dish with potato, carrot and stock, covered in foil for twenty minutes and uncovered for twenty-five.

for a Sunday when the oven can do most of the work

At 510 calories with 22g of fibre and 19g of protein, it is one of the lighter dinners here. Most of its 65 minutes are oven time, so you are not stood at the hob.

Where it falls down: it carries 5g of salt a portion, which is most of the NHS limit of 6g a day for adults. It scores three of your five a day, the lowest of the four with a score, and has 9g of saturated fat. You need your own plain flour too, and it is only on the 19 November menu.

Surcharges and higher box prices this month

Between six and eleven dishes on each November menu carry a surcharge. Grubby adds it per box, so a £1.98 surcharge on a box for two is 99p a serving. The 26 November menu has the most, with 11 of its 30 dishes costing extra. The steepest are the ribs at £3.49 a serving and a braised “beef” with truffle mash at £2.99.

Box prices have also gone up since the end of September. A two-recipe box for two is now £29.98, up from £29.00, and a five-recipe box is £59.95, up from £57.50. So check the price beside each dish before you fill a box, because the surcharge does not show in the box price. Only one of my five carries one.

04 For a one-pan weeknight

Fiery ’Nduja Tomato & Butterbean Gnocchi

Recipe #337 uses one deep frying pan from start to finish. First, bite-sized aubergine fries for four or five minutes and comes out. Then the gnocchi and drained butter beans crisp in the same pan, followed by garlic, tomato paste and halved cherry tomatoes. After that, stock goes in for a short simmer, and plant-based ’nduja, basil and lemon finish it.

for the night you want dinner with one pan to wash

It scores five of your five a day and carries the Low Calorie and Low Sat Fat tags. In fact, a portion comes to 573 calories with 25g of protein, 20g of fibre and 4g of saturated fat.

Where it falls down: its 4.2 rating is the lowest of the four rated picks, and the gnocchi contains wheat, so it is out for anyone avoiding gluten. It also carries 4g of salt a portion. It is on the 26 November menu only, which covers deliveries up to 30 November.

Pick 05 / The healthy one, on every menu

05

Zingy Tofu and Fennel Casserole with Pumpkin Seeds

Recipe #658 is my healthy pick this month, and the figures are the reason. It scores five of your five a day, and a portion comes to 401 calories with 30g of protein, 3g of saturated fat and 2g of salt. It carries the Low Calorie, High Protein, Low Sat Fat and No Gluten tags.

for the weeks between bonfire night and Christmas when you want something lighter

Fennel wedges fry until deep golden, then scored slices of tofu brown for three or four minutes a side. Meanwhile, carrot and red onion soften with garlic, tomato paste and miso. Everything then goes into the oven with cherry tomatoes and lemon slices for fifteen to twenty minutes, and pumpkin seeds, oregano and dill finish it. It is on all four November menus, so it fits whichever week you order.

Where it falls down: it costs an extra 99p a serving, so £1.98 more on a box for two. There is no rice, bread or potato in the box, so it is light on its own. It is too new to have a customer rating, and it needs an oven-proof pan or a dish.

Section 03 / The money

What a November Grubby box costs

Every box size costs more than it did at the end of September, and there is a new one-recipe box.

A two-recipe box for two people is £29.98 and a five-recipe box is £59.95, which works out at £7.50 and £6.00 a portion. Similarly, family boxes serve four and run from £49.96 for two recipes to £94.90 for five. Grubby has also added a one-recipe box at £14.99, meant to sit alongside its frozen ready meals.

Delivery is £4.99 a box, although the first box ships free. If you order most weeks, Grubby Plus covers delivery for £5.99 a month or £49.99 a year. The monthly pass pays for itself with a second box in the same month, and the annual one from the eleventh box.

For how the sign-up discount changes the first few boxes, see my guide to how much Grubby costs. Every past edition of this series, from May onwards, lives on the Grubby recipes hub.

Who November's list suits

November's list suits anyone cooking for two who wants warm dinners and can spare forty minutes on most nights. If you want the quickest, the loaded sweet potatoes take thirty. For protein, the casserole leads with 30g a portion, while the shepherdless pie is the one to choose if you are watching saturated fat. Anyone avoiding gluten should skip the gnocchi, and the Irish stew needs your own flour, so use a gluten-free one. None of my five contains nuts.
