The AeroPress Premium is the AeroPress coffee maker rebuilt in glass, stainless steel and aluminium instead of plastic. It brews the same way as the plastic Original, pressing up to 10oz of coffee through a paper filter in about two minutes. The chamber is handmade double-wall borosilicate glass, so you can watch the coffee steep. It costs £189.99 from AeroPress UK in black, silver or white. I checked the prices and stock on 8 October 2026, and Amazon UK had the black one at the same price.

You put ground coffee in the chamber, add hot water and stir. Then you push the plunger down, and air pressure forces the coffee through a paper micro-filter into your mug. AeroPress calls this its 3-in-1 method: it steeps like a cafetière, filters like a pour-over and uses pressure like an espresso machine.
Because the steep is short, the coffee comes out less bitter than a long cafetière brew, and the paper filter keeps the grit out. Meanwhile, the method is the same across the AeroPress range, so the Premium does not make a different cup from the Original. The extra money pays for glass you can see through, metal parts in place of plastic ones and a heavier press.
AeroPress UK sells the plastic Original for £39.99, and it makes the same coffee. In other words, about £150 of the price pays for the materials and the look.
AeroPress does not recommend the Premium for travel, and the glass can break if you drop it. A replacement Premium chamber costs £95 from AeroPress UK, so a single slip is expensive. For camping or the office, the all-metal AeroPress Steel at £159.99 or the Original is the better pick.
It is also hand-wash only, so it cannot go in the dishwasher. AeroPress also asks owners not to brew upside down, the "inverted" method some people use, because the press is less stable that way and hot coffee can spill. The steel filter cap gets hot after brewing, so run it briefly under cold water or use a cloth before you unscrew it.
Amazon UK had the black AeroPress Premium at £189.99, sold by TKC Sales Ltd. AeroPress UK sells all three colours direct at the same price, along with spare parts such as the seal, plunger and chamber. The full specification and care guidance are on the AeroPress UK product page.

AeroPress Premium on Amazon UK
£189.99 from AeroPress UK and from Amazon UK, checked on 8 October 2026.
No. It uses the same brewing method, the same 10oz capacity and the same paper filters, so the coffee is the same. The difference is the glass and metal build.
No. AeroPress says it is hand-wash only because the glass chamber is handmade.
AeroPress does not recommend it for travel. The AeroPress Steel and the Original are the versions to pack, and the AeroPress Go is built for it.
No, because the chamber is double-wall glass. The stainless steel filter cap does get hot, so cool it under the tap or use a cloth before removing it.
