The Belkin 8-outlet surge protector is an extension lead with eight UK sockets, 900 joules of surge protection, a USB-C port and a USB-A port on a 2m cable. It costs £39.99 on Amazon UK, sold by Amazon, and the same at Belkin. Belkin adds a 2-year warranty and a £60,000 Connected Equipment Warranty.
It is the lead that powers my whole desk. I checked the price on Amazon UK and Belkin's UK store on 5 October 2026.

It is an eight-way extension lead with surge protection built in, rated at 900 joules, which absorbs short voltage spikes before they reach what is plugged in. An indicator light shows when the protection is working. Belkin's model number is SRB003af2M.
Alongside the eight sockets there is one USB-C Power Delivery port and one USB-A port, so a phone charges without using a socket and a plug. The strip can also be screwed to a wall or the underside of a desk.
All eight sockets share one wall socket, so the whole lead is limited to 13A. Electrical Safety First says most extension leads are rated at 13A, and that you should never plug one extension lead into another. A desk of screens, lamps, speakers and chargers draws far less than that. A fan heater or a kettle added to the same lead is where the limit starts to matter.
Belkin does not publish the USB-C port's wattage. It says only that the port charges up to 70% faster than a 5W charger, which suits a phone, so check before relying on it for a laptop. The lead is also 2m long, so it needs a wall socket within reach of the desk.
Amazon UK sells it at £39.99, sold by Amazon, and Belkin sells it at the same price on its own UK store. It powers the desk in my best desk accessories guide.
